jamiemaslynMisty the cow, Governors Island’s newest (temporary) resident, was on the move today when she went to Lower Manhattan to stretch her legs and see more of our fair city. Misty is part of the New Island Festival, a Dutch festival of the arts on the Island. The festival features site specific performances, incredible visual arts, DJ sets, and, of course, Misty. You still have four more days when you can meet Misty yourself. Come out to Governors Island Thursday – Sunday for the New Island Festival and head down to the Boulevard of Broken Dreams. Misty will be waiting to greet you.

Is it true (somebody told me at the festival last week) that Misty will be eaten at the festival´s goodbye BBQ? I think that they should spare her and come back next year with this reliable and sweet animal..

That is definitely not true. Misty is a dairy cow and will return to her home at the close of the festival.
Her handler is Jacob and he accompanied Misty on her trip into Lower Manhattan yesterday.
Kudos to Misty’s handler. Without question, we all need to know his name. Thank you.
I would like to see more pictures of Misty and her adventures in lower Manhattan. I can’t wait to go to the Island this weekend to meet Misty.
