Procrastinator’s Revenge

2009_09_15 New Island Festival (50)

Fall bike ride along the Buttermilk Channel

You’ve been meaning to get out to Governors Island all summer. You read the New York Magazine piece early in the season.  You tore out the Time Out New York guide and hung it on your fridge. You even made it most of the way though the New Yorker article. Maybe you subscribed to our blog and thought our Twitter feed would remind you. All your friends have been here for picnics, biking, art, minigolf, and all things avante-Dutch. You told yourself you’d get out there next week. But it rained.  Andyou were afraid of the cow. Whatever, you didn’t make it out, and now it’s fall. The New Island Festival is gone; Pioneers of Change is over; Creative Time has packed its bags. You’ll try again next year.  .  .Well, you’re in luck. Governors Island is open for 2 more weekends! And now that the crowds – and the cow – are gone, there’s no better time to visit. There are still a lot of things to see and do here. See below for a list of our ongoing programs:

Building 11: Angel Orensanz (Saturday and Sunday only) – LAST WEEKEND
Building 14 Lawn: Children’s Museum of the Arts – LAST WEEKEND
Building 19 A &B: Sculptors Guild – LAST WEEKEND
