Welcome to Governors Island

Governors Island, a 172 acre island in the heart of New York Harbor, is only 800 yards from Lower Manhattan, and even closer to Brooklyn. It is a world unto itself, unique and full of promise.

The Trust for Governors Island is working to make the Island a destination with great public open space, as well as future education, not for profit and commercial facilities. The Bloomberg Administration is investing more than $250 million to build an extraordinary new park and public spaces and to bring the Island's infrastructure into the 21st century.

Come Out & Play Field Day on the Parade Ground!

We hope you had a blast this past weekend on Governors Island!! We had some great events including City of Water Day, Come Out & Play Field Day, Vintage Baseball, and art workshops/tours. Didn’t get to experience the fun? Come visit this upcoming weekend!
